MICHELIN LOGO | Chestnut Auto Repairs & Towing

No one makes tires like MICHELIN®. That’s because MICHELIN® recognizes that you need it all from your tires — safety, a comfortable ride, fuel efficiency, grip and control, toughness, and more. Safe, everyday driving demands it. Many of those performances naturally compete, and increasing one tends to decrease another. That’s not acceptable at MICHELIN®.

GENERAL TIRE LOGO | Chestnut Auto Repairs & Towing

The General Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1915 by William O’Neil and Winfred E. Fouse in Akron, Ohio, the rubber capital of the world. General Tire entered a booming market with over 300 competitors, so O’Neil and Fouse bypassed the original equipment (OE) market and moved straight on to focus on producing a quality replacement tire.

An early tire that General Tire released was the General Balloon Jumbo, a pneumatic truck tire that required only 12 pounds of air pressure. In 1955, General Tire entered the passenger car OE tire market as the tire supplier for General Motors.

The General Tire and Rubber Company underwent a name change to GenCorp, Inc. in 1984, then soon sold to Continental AG of Hanover, Germany in 1987. General Tire is currently a branch of Continental Tire North America, Inc. They still are one of the leaders in the pack for marketing, production, and development of superior tires.

General Tire still continues its tradition of manufacturing a comprehensive line of quality, ultra-high performing tires.

Regardless of your driving or budget needs, our staff can help you find the perfect set of General tires. We have the right price on the right tire for every customer that walks through our door. Contact us online, or visit us today to begin your search for the right set of General tires.

GOODYEAR LOGO | Chestnut Auto Repairs & Towing

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was founded in 1898 by Frank Seiberling in Akron, Ohio. That year, the company had only thirteen employees, and began producing bicycle and carriage tires.

Goodyear supplied Henry Ford with racing tires, and Ford started using Goodyear tires on the Model T in 1908. Goodyear became the world’s largest rubber company by 1926, a mere 28 years after its founding.

Goodyear formed an alliance with Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. in 1999, which reestablished Goodyear as the largest tire manufacturer in the world.

Goodyear’s business philosophy has always been centered on becoming a “market-focused” tire company which provides quality services and products to consumers. Since its foundation, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s values have been concentrated on one phrase: “Protect Our Good Name.” The company is dedicated to improving tire technology, as well as utilizing new-found knowledge in products that aim to further develop driving excellence.

Whether you drive a sedan or a pickup truck, a sports car or a minivan, Goodyear has the tires to fit your needs. After all, more people ride on Goodyear tires than on any other kind.
